 CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY

Your Gateway to Health

Biodynamic craniosacral therapy (BCST) is safe and gentle. It is a hands-on therapy that uses light touch with a process of listening to the client’s body. This encourages a reorganizing or releasing of constrictive patterns in the tissues and emotional body, inviting the health that is present in us all. In listening to the body, like a mirror, we reflect back to how it is being held. In this way the body can ‘see’ what is happening and reorient to health. There is acknowledgement of how the body is, with an invitation to change. This therapy supports the body to spontaneously reorganise those systems which are out of balance.

In daily life, everyone copes with many levels of stress and trauma. Our ability to function optimally may be compromised as we are challenged to maintain health. Often, this leads to distress, discomfort and disease. BCST assists the body's healing intelligence in restoring health and balance.

Clients report a gentle, natural release of stress and trauma, resolution of chronic issues, promotion of injury recovery, and an overall sense of well-being.

ABOUT Joanne

Joanne started her journey towards becoming a natural health practitioner in Canada. Initially, becoming a doula and childbirth educator after the birth of her older son. Joanne was co-owner and practitioner of a busy massage therapy clinic for seven years prior to moving to New Zealand with her two sons to formally train as a midwife. For12 years, she served as a community midwife (LMC) in Christchurch with most of that with Home and Water Birth Midwives. After seeing the effectiveness of craniosacral therapy on pregnant women and babies, Joanne decided to train in BCST herself.

With over twenty five years’ experience in craniosacral and massage therapy, midwifery and childbirth education, you will find yourself in safe hands as you move closer towards health and well-being. Joanne enjoys working with people of all ages, yet with her background in midwifery she loves to work with mothers, babies, and families. Also, stress and trauma - emotional and physical - are another important focus of her work.

"95 percent of all illness occurs because of stress in the body's autonomic nervous system."
~ Dr. Bruce Lipton, PhD, American developmental biologist.
